My
Story
After graduating in 2016, I began my creative career in a design agency which gave me the opportunity to develop packaging for companies such as Next, Oliver Bonas and The White Company. I am now working as an in-house designer for the all natural, Tisserand Aromatherapy.

On a more fun and personal note, I am a coffee lover (who can never get her name on a Starbucks cup), Chinese eating, fitness fanatic.

Hey Fenella,
did you know that one day you will graduate university as a fully qualified Graphic Designer and be working as an in-house and freelance designer?
If you would have said this to me 5 years ago, I wouldn't have even been able to imagine it. The truth is, I left college without a clue as to what I wanted to do for a career. (I used to want to be a Fashion Designer, but it is safe to say that went straight out of the window as soon as I bought a pair of Uggs!) However, art is and always will be a real passion of mine, but I knew how hard it was to make a name for yourself as an Artist.

I always took a digital approach to art, using a camera at any given chance and editing my photos using photoshop. (I still cringe at how overexposed and stylised my images were back then... but I was learning!) It was then that I realised I could combine my love of art and digital design, and I decided to study Graphic Design at the London based university, UCA. Being from Surrey it meant I was able to stay close to home as family is very important to me.
After 4 long years of
Awkward
presentations, good grades and bad grades, all nighters and nerves, I graduated university with a first class degree.
I began university on a course called 'Graphic Design New Media', which within a few months of joining was renamed 'Digital Communication'. During the first year, we did projects on animation, coding, moving imagery etc, and it didn't take me long to realise that this wasn't the course for me.
I had the option to join the 'Graphic Design' course from second year, but decided to start from the beginning so I could gain as much knowledge as possible. So it was back to first year!
I couldn't tell you how happy I was, and still am! What I love most about design is that you can use visual communication to convey a message to your audience. You see, it isn't just about creating a pretty image, its so much more. Something as simple as using the wrong font or a certain colour can produce a completely different message to your audience.
I love that whether my design is to help clients make their dream business a reality, or create an image of a beloved pet dog for a gift, I can help.
I love my job!
Not only do I freelance, I am currently working as an in-house Senior Graphic Designer creating brand concepts, packaging, illustrations and digital assets for the natural wellbeing company, Tisserand Aromatherapy.
